About this tool

Exchange rates change every day, which makes converting money by hand unreliable. Whether you are shopping from an international store, planning a trip abroad, sending money to family or checking the value of an invoice, you need the latest rate, not last month's.

Our free currency converter fetches live exchange rates and converts any amount instantly. Pick the currency you have and the currency you want, enter the amount, and the tool shows the converted value plus the current rate. It supports more than 150 world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, PKR and INR.

How to use

Using the currency converter is simple. Enter the amount in the first field, then choose the source currency and the target currency from the dropdowns. Press Convert and the result appears right away, together with the exchange rate used.

When the page loads, the tool downloads the latest rates automatically. If the rates cannot load because you are offline, you will see a clear message instead of a wrong number. Just reconnect and try again.

The math behind it

All conversions go through the US dollar, which is the base of the rate feed. Each currency has a rate that says how many units equal one dollar. To convert, the tool first divides your amount by the source currency rate to get dollars, then multiplies by the target currency rate.

For example, if 1 USD equals 0.92 EUR, then 100 USD becomes 92 EUR. Rates are mid-market reference rates and update regularly; banks and money changers may add their own fees on top.

Frequently asked questions

What is the mid-market exchange rate?
The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices of two currencies — the ‘real’ rate you see on Google. Banks usually add their own margin on top of it.
Why is my bank's rate different from this converter?
Banks and transfer services add a spread or fee to the mid-market rate, so the rate they offer you is worse than the reference rate. This converter shows the mid-market rate with no markup.
How often are the exchange rates updated?
Rates are fetched live from the rate provider each time you open the page, and the source refreshes its rates daily. For large transfers, always confirm the final rate with your bank.
Which currencies can I convert?
Over 160 world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, PKR, INR, JPY, CAD, AUD, CNY, AED, SAR and CHF.
Is there a fee for using this currency converter?
No — the tool itself is completely free. Just note that your bank or transfer service may charge its own fee or margin when you actually exchange money.
